Dedolight California was recently established as the sole Dedolight distributor in California. Most Cinematographers and Gaffers in California are aware of the wonderful 100 and 150 watt Classic Dedolights and accessories but are virtually in the dark when it comes to the other precision and efficient lighting instruments by Dedolight. Dedolight California wants you to know they are now a support and educational resource dedicated to serve you and the unique California Film & Video community. I proposed a Group Buy for Redusers for the DLH-400 HMI 400/575 D/T system with flicker free ballast and accessories due to its power, precision and versatility. Dedolight California agreed with a most generous GB . Unfortunately this offer is only valid within California with no out of state shipping. Free shipping in California. Want it now before GB ends? Check out the ordering section below and see how your kit can be shipped promptly before the Group Buy closes and you can still get Tier Three pricing.
Group Buy Closes Midnight June 15 2018
Now (drum roll), hold on to your sox boys and girls. Unbelievable but true!

U.S. List Price: $7165 includes head, ballast, cables, shield ring, barndoor, lamp.
Tier One Discount 35% 1-5 Kits. $4657 First 5 kits get a free wide angle attachment.
    Tier Two Discount 40% 6-9 Kits $4299
Tier Three Discount 45% 10- or more $3940
Download the complete description of the light & promo: from the top left corner of the home page: www.dedolightcalifornia.com
More info about the DLH400 and photometrics: http://www.dedolightcalifornia.com/dlh400.html
    See how rugged dedolights are:

Ordering information: Get your DLH-400 System at anytime during this GB.
If you order and pay today and want it shipped promptly while we are still in Tier One, you will be charged Tier One price with a twist. As the paid Redusers move up to Tier Two, the difference in price will be credited back to all Tier One buyers. When reaching Tier Three, all who chose to buy and paid while in Tier One or Two will be credited the difference. By structuring the GB in such a way, you won’t have to wait until the group buy closes and then wait again for shipping. Shipping will be prioritized upon payment time stamp. Early buyer rebates due to “tier escalation” will be promptly issued June 16. For credit cards and Paypal payments: refunds will be issued by Paypal. For bank transfer and check payments: refunds will be issued by check. If a customer provides Dedolight California with a completed California Sales Tele-production Tax form (www.cdtfa.ca.gov/formspubs/cdtfa230j.pdf ) prior to shipment sales tax will be calculated at 4.5%. All others must be charged 9.5%.

Payment means: cashier’s check, bank transfer, Paypal, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Personal Disclaimer: Dedo Weigert has been a personal friend for many years. I have no financial affiliation with dedolight Munich, Dedotec USA, or dedolight California and benefit in no material or financial way from this Group Buy.

If you plan to take advantage of this DLH-400 System offer, I will add your name to this list for each DLH-400DT kit you intend to purchase.

I read that as out of state can participate, but will not receive free shipping. If you want greater participation, you should clarify that part of the GB.

I'm pretty sure it's for California only.

It is for California delivery only. This offer is being made to announce Dedolight California's exclusive distributorship and support in Hollywood and all of California, and is therefore offered for in state shipment or pick-up. The original thought was to get the DLH-400 system into the hands of those interested in taking advantage of this amazing offer as soon as possible rather than waiting for the group buy to end and the shipping delay. I now see that this has become that "chicken or egg first" thing.

Let's do this: If you want in on the group buy, please post your intention to purchase a DLH-system in this thread. I will add your name to the list and Dedolight California will use that metric to determine the Tier level. I now see that this is the way to keep those interested in purchasing to know where we are on the numbers. Dedolight California has agreed.

For those who may not know, Dedolight makes a paralell beam adapter for the DLH-400 designed specifically for CRLS systems including the ones offered by Dedolight.

If you are going to Cine Gear, please visit their booth for a look at the complete Dedolight line of lighting instruments. If you are from out of state you are still elegible for the GB as the purchase was made in California. Maybe the savings will pay for your trip to Cine Gear.

    Hope this helps.

For San Francisco Bay Area people, its not too late to check out the CRLS system at the 5/23 event listed here:

I stand corrected by Dedo. CLRS is a term commonly referring to a reflective lighting system, and was originally coined by an Austrian company that made specific reflectors for photographic lighting. Kind of like the term Kleenex commonly used to refer to facial tissue regardless of manufacture brand. Reflective lighting has been used since the middle ages long before the camera was invented, and so is nothing new. What is new is paralell beam lighting. When a paralell beam lighting attachment is placed placed on the front of a Dedolight, it not only collimates the beam of light into a 4 degree spot evenly illuminated area, it actually increased illumination intensity by a factor of 2.5 to 4 depending on the Dedolight instrument being used. That is the amazing part. This works because the aspherical optics in the paralell beam attachment were designed specifically to work with the aspheric lenses of that particular model of an aspheric Dedolight. Reflected light is nothing new, but this lighting system is. Dedo calls his system Lightstream. A 1.2K Dedolight with the paralell beam attachment has better efficiency and pumps out more light than a Mole 6K in spot.

Dedo invites you to visit the Dedolight California Booth at Cine Gear to discover for yourself the value of Dedolight Lightstream for cinema reflected light.

As I learned at the Bay Area event noted above...

The CRLS system, as we know it, was invented a couple of decades ago by Christian Berger. As it has evolved, though, it is not just about any old reflected light. The quality and efficiency of the reflectors is key to the effectiveness of the system. The Dedo light would, indeed, be an excellent choice in a CRL system but, as demonstrated in our session by Jacob Ballinger, Christian Berger's long time gaffer, a parallel beam light is not a necessary element when using the system.

Agreed Terry. Paralell beam is not necessary. It is however the most efficient and most controllable source to date because the parallel beam attachments are specifically designed for this purpose when used with aspherical Dedolights. Hope you had a good show and turnout because it is a most wonderful way to light and is so very flexable when in skilled hands. No doubt we will see more and more of it in the wild as it catches on with top gaffers. Good stuff.
