    Hey,

I got a Problem with one of our two RED cameras.
When I record clips which have a size beyond 2GB and last longer than approximately 5 minutes then the camera hangs-up while the POST data is written. When that happend the only thing I can do on that camera is powering down. When I then watch the clips on my Mac the R3D files are there but not the Quicktimes and no log.file
R3D files seem to be ok.

The Camera is on Build 16 but the same Problem already occured on Build 15.
It only happens when I want the Quicktime Proxies to be recorded.
I allready did a complete restore of the camera, a re-install of Build 16 and a blackshading afterwards but it still doesn't work.

Anyone else who has this Problem? And how could it be solved?

    Thanks!

Stupid question: You're recording to the RED DRIVE, right?

Can we get the log file and to which media you're recording to?

This has happened to me quite a few times both with CF and RED drives at different resolutions. I am hoping it will go away when I upgrade to B16 but for now I just power down and deal with lack of quicktime files. If B16 doesn't solve, I'll have to send camera in. :(

I'm recording to a red drive. The problem is that sometimes when that happens even the log file isn't written. But I'll try it out again and when I have a log file I'll send it to you.

    Thanks!

Are you ejecting the drive when your done? Thats when the LOG file gets written. Are you formatting in camera?

Its not possible to eject once the camera hung up. I can just power down.
I testet it again 6minutes recording was fine but 10 minutes were not.
