Shot on the amazing RED Gemini in 2x 5K 6"5 Anamorphic mode! Gosh I'm loving this thing. Mainly lit by practicals at only 1600 ISO. This thing is crazy good. HUGE upgrade from Weapon Helium IMO for my needs.

    Happy Early Father's Day Dads!

Great work Chris! Quick question, I've just got a 2x Anamorphic lens. When I shoot with Gemini in 5k 6:5 mode 2x mode, what do I set my resolution in FCPX? It says the file res is 3600x3000 but when I set that resolution in FCPX it looks terrible...Any help would be great.

You need to de-squeeze the footage once inside of FCPX. First, you can create a custom timeline with the resolution of 7200x3000 (3600 x 2 - for 2x anamorphic lens). You then, adjust the width of the clips to 200% (2x anamorphic lens) within the timeline. That should properly desqueeze the footage within FCPX. Hope that helps.

Chris... I watched it twice in a row, this is really an emotional piece... Of course because of the story but also thanks to the way you shot it and that idea with the projector, edit is beautiful.
More than well done, you can be proud.
