Hi, When I set my target temperature on my Epic-W to anything other than the default the camera will not recall the new setting after a reboot. Instead I have to go back and set my desired target temp again and again each time I switch the cam off and on again. Is there any work around this so the Epic-W actually saves the chosen target temperature for good ? Thanks !

That is definitely not normal- I'm not super sure that the internal battery has anything to do with this, but are your time and date being reset with each power cycle, as well? Are your cal maps disappearing also?

The target temperature will follow your current active sensor calibration whenever the camera is rebooted. To save the temp, just make a new calibration when the desired temperature is reached.

There are so many ideas on target temps. Higher produces less fan noise but takes longer to warm up to. It's bad if you don't wait for your camera to get up to temperature before rolling. Helium needs Manual calibration for best performance while other sensors work well with Auto. Basically it seems like 39C is default but 43-46C are pretty commonly used on Helium at least. I've heard others say that RED recommended using 46C, but haven't seen any first hand references to support that yet...
