  1. #1 A seconds/minutes counter when I press record?
Guys, I can't for the life of me figure this out. I'm sure it's super simple. When I press record, I'd like to see a counter of how many seconds/minutes I've been recording the current clip. How can I get this to work?

I don't think that can be done.

If you select 'Edge' in the Timecode section of the Project settings, the timecode will start and stop when you start and stop recording, but it won't reset to zero in-between takes to show the duration of each take as it happens.

The duration info is available in the metadata though, if you want to see it in post.

Maybe use an external recorder (but just set it to ProRes Proxy or whatever) which uses SDI trigger that shows this info? Might be a way to figure out a work around hack for displaying current recording length.

Hmmm, you could hire a script supervisor on set to note the start time of each take and then write down how long it lasted. I've seen scripties literally use stopwatches to time scenes back in the day, but I think they grab timecode numbers today.
