    Hello guys,

I've been a vivid Red lover since the early beginning, having had a RED ONE MX, a Scarlet and afterwards an EPIC. I loved every single one of them, but a couple of years ago I went traveling for a longer time and sold my epic.
Now Im looking to buy a new one, but now it got a bit harder than before, having so many different ones to choose from.

To be honest, I would love the Helium 8K, but I heard it has a big crop factor while shooting 4K120fps and thats something big for me. I need a camera that gives me the most resolution possible, while still not cropping a lot for doing high frame rates.
Low Light is something also very important to me.

I will mainly use it for commercials, fashion shoots, corporate, and different narrative work.

What would you recommend me? Helium 8K or Gemini 5K?

Thanks in advance to everyone of you. Im looking forward to being a RED Owner again...

    All the best
    Seb

Some guys in Germany are able to help you when you want to shoot high-frame-rate and not crop to much.

    https://store-abt.de/product-categor...speed-booster/

    5K WS 5120x2160 2.37:1 120.38 fps 18.69x7.88mm 20.28mm image circle divided by 0.72 gives you and image circle of (25.96x 10.94 ~) 28.17 mm (Super 35 3perf being 24.89x13.89mm (28.50mm image circle))

    Ciao Luigi :)

Thanks for the quick reply, is it because of the better slow mo capabilities (crop-wise) or cose of the dual ISO? or both?

    Grazie

Since you do a mixture of genres I'd suggest the Gemini due to it's versatility and native ability to over crank without as much cropping.

Thanks for the replies guys. After reading and watching more footage I also came to the conclusion that Gemini is going to be the one for me.
