I'm working on a shoot this week that requires us to move very quickly and fit a lot into a 12 hour day.

It's a shoot for a running app, and we'll be living on a steadi/rickshaw rig for most of the day.

I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations for battery powered lighting that will be powerful enough to give us a little punch on the talent?

Is Westcott Flexlight enough power for you?

Yup, LitePanel ASTRAS are the bomb when it comes to battery powered mobile lighting. They are a little fragile and don't like humidity but other than that I love mine.

The Aputure Lightstorm 300d can run on batteries and packs a pretty decent punch outside.

Digital Sputnik DS1's are great and can run off of a 90w vmount for about an hour. I'd try to source 4 for a day shoot.

The Astras will provide some solid fill, but the Digital Sputnik's Brian notes offer a bit more punch. Would love to see the Aputure 300d in that situation, perhaps they could create more edge. Another option might be the Hexolux which have Fresnel lenses, competing with the sun is always a challenge and the ability to focus the beam right where you need it could be a difference maker. Break a leg!

I think led evolution made light to come to an area where heavy, hard metal fixtures can be avoided. I love flexlight for that evolution.
