I'm not worried about the CF itself, like what Hans said above. CF will adapt to temperature changes at a different rate than steel or aluminum. I'm thinking we shouldn't have the expansion and contraction issues on the same level as steel or aluminum, which could be good or bad, I don't know.
I'll be using mine in temps down to -25F (-32C)... Which is pretty cold. Any colder than that and I stay home. And that sort of cold isn't an every day occurance. -20C that you mentioned (which would be about -4F) is actually a bit colder than typical for morning set-up temperatures for winter sports events around here.
I own the 24" Aluminum rods from ET and they are one of the best accessories to own!
