Birger Lens Mount speculation

Here's an attempt at uncluttering the famous Birger thread. :weight_lift:

So let's start:

• What cool new features do you wish for, new applications, new gadgets?
• Why do you think the mount is delayed, and what is this talk of a redesigned mount, possibly related to the new iCable? Does this mean a new round of chocolate-bribed warranty testing at RED HQ?
• In what order do you think these events will happen: Shipment of 100 Birger mounts, Erik's wedding and 200.000 reads on the Birger thread (currently 185.000)?
• Will there be a Birger mount on display during IBC? Knobs? Pocket PC application(s)?

A) Slaving second mount to single knob for controlling two identical lenses for stereo (3D) applications... :)

B) I think it is the iCable - and I would gladly donate the chocolate if that's what it takes... :)

C) I am optimist - 100 Birger Mounts... :)

A) A device that reads distances and adjusts the focus (a pistol like device)
or

a touch screen tablet program that lets the focus puller tap where they want the focus to be on the screen and then adjusts focus automatically to that spot.

It did seem that the shipment would actually win, but in a twist of fate some technical problems have delayed the volume shipping, and thus 200.000 reads on the Birger Thread wins.

Now it's down to shipping vs. wedding :)

hahaha oh this never ends...I've become stoic about this situation...all I can do is wait and laugh...hahaha

The whole thing is a disaster for those of us who actually had been counting on these wireless developments. Between RED's, View Factor's, and Birger's delays, it's been pretty doggone tough getting everything in order for our film. Fortunately, RED came through for us.
