It must be nice to have that kind of money that you don't mind if you fuck up your Red Cinema Camera.

Well the one thing this certainly highlights is how incredibly complicated and refined the DSMC2 design is. In the face of many digital cinema cameras, it's pretty nuts how compact it actually is. And you are getting a hint of the cost behind some of the components even. Little brain, powerful, and complicated.

And really, don't try this at home or literally anywhere. RED has higher tiered service professionals to even get that deep into the camera brain. I'll be routing for Linus and co to get this thing put back together, but even taking it apart wrong could influence if the camera would post on boot.

And to the notion of using a AIO water cooler-style solution, there's about a bazillion reasons not to use water to cool components inside a camera that not only gets beat around a fair amount, but are used is a massive variety of weather conditions.

That's really interesting. I've always wanted to see how this little magic box works inside. I applaud Linus for doing that.
Let's not forget Linus has a net worth of $1.5 million and his company "Linus Media Group" makes about $50k profit per month from youtube and other partnerships.
At the end of the day, If he has to buy a new camera, I'm sure he really doesn't care.....Linus is BALLIN!

Think of all the film schools that could have used that camera.

Seeing as they don't even understand what shit does (back focus adjustment is a good example), I think the chances of getting this back together and not being totally fucked up are slim.
