@Ketch, I'm guessing that size difference could be the electronics, but likely also to deal with heat from the display. Likely more passive cooling in that screen.

It's actually pretty impressive that it doesn't draw too much more than the current 7.0".

And I'll go one more deep, EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE that the product was announced and shipping right this second. Sneaky guys. Though it was teased a bit ago.

One more thing I'm seeing that I like. The 1920x1200 resolution seems to work better for the GUI particularly in FF formats. Subtle, yet noticeable.

Love the cables version ... but is there an indoor mode? Not just for lowering the power draw but simply because high NIT screens cause exposure confusion indoors every time we use them.. client 'the shot is too bright' comments take 10min deal with...

    Thanks

Differences in power draw between the normal 7" and the UB?
Even though the UB seems like a great upgrade I have no major issues using the normal 7" outside with a sunhood (which also sometimes also works as a privacy protector)
My main concern would be the power draw because I'm running on batteries 99.99% of the time for exteriors.

Gonna be the guy that asks: Is there any consideration for a trade in from 7.0 touch to this model?

+1 for more info about backlight settings in the OSD, will a quick switch be available for "studio" or "daylight viewable" settings?

Recent 7" models were quite accurate VS past 5" ones so I'd really like 2 officially supported and (relatively) calibrated settings available in the menu and assignable to a button like everything else...

    Yeah might thinking exactly Phil,
And yes in absolute love with this one, as I was already thinking about exclusively using the 4.7 for camera control and the 703 for actual on camera outdoor all in one monitor.

Very happy that this one finally came out with this type of specs!!

This is very cool. One of the things that we always wanted was brighter screens so great to see it finally happening!

But how is it possible that the power draw is similar to the 7"???

A more modernized / power efficient lcd panel I'd assume.
