Forgive me for stupidity but you guys are the xperts -- looking to go from arri amira to red 8k in the next month, funds are locked in but production team are arguing over what we get.

can someone outline the key or specific differences between a red epic-w helium and the weapon helium? both 8k, both dsmc2, both s35 sensor???

any help would be much appreciated

Check this site when you want more info about RED camera's http://phfx.com/

AMIRA is an all in one camera vs. RED are modular camera's (totally different approach)

    Posting data specifications.

Two main considerations when talking DSMC 2 helium 8K S35 and Epic-W is maximum data rate and maximum frame rates. Some people honestly will need 8K at 60fps.

Tom, the Epic-W Helium is no longer sold.

Everything has been unified under one body - DSMC2 Unified. If you get the 8K Helium flavor, you'll get S35 sensor with max offspeed and data rates. If you get 8K Monstro, you'll have a much larger Vista Vistion 8K sensor - also with max offspeed and data rates.

As stated already. Epic W and Weapon are discontinued. There is now just one body (DSMC2) with your choice of 4 different sensors. So if you want helium, you want DSMC2 with helium sensor.
