Full res de-bayer in the highest quality settings with 8k material requires a lot of fp32, current GPU's in laptops are not upto that task.

Are you sure it was a 2060? I'm not sure if there is a 2060 with 8GB.

Anyone have a nVidia MX150 with 4GB vram they can try this with? It's the lowest end dedicated GPU with 4gb that nVidia offers and comes in a lot of thin & light notebooks (14", <1" thick, <4lbs) and much cheaper than RTX equipped laptops.

Just tested the new release candidate.
I get 20-21fps on 8k FF which is just awesome
7K HD plays at 25fps, sometimes it drops.

This is a laptop with a full 1080 GTX card. Before I could not get full resolution work in Redcine Beta, but now there is no problem. I'm sure on a 2080 RTX it would easily play full speed.

I heard there are 8 core laptops coming. Not that the cores will help with playback but useful for other processing.
