    Two reasons. If it would be possible to record to a cheaper source with sustained reliability I would be glad. By now I would hoped the red mags would go down in price.
    Also It would be cool if you could bring your atomos recorder and sit down and review footage and mark good takes or what not without having needing the camera. I dont know what is possible. But im curios if anobody knows what we could expect.

    So you're not limited to Red's slow poke data rates and could record 1:2 or 1:1 if you want on inexpensive SSD's.

    Those Samsung PM983 7.68TB 2GB/s seq. write, for $1500 are tempting.
    Maybe BMD will jump on it for their new 6..8k camera or a Kinefinity.

    I don't see RED jumping on that wagon, MiniMags are part of their business model, as is REDcodeRAW compressed RAW.

    Fusion is still unusable for me, like Resolve 15. I'm just gonna forget the Fusion tab exists until I get a new machine
