Hello,
I've just seen this new compact dual XLR module for the red with phantom power. It seems to be really interesting and not to expensive $500. Has anyone ever tested it ?
regards

Deleted by me....I was wrongly commenting on the Beachtek Alexa module, not this new gizmo.
Nice size... we use this instead http://www.filmtontechnik.de/en/prod...ch/dslr-mixer/ which is the same weight
the 1st test I'd need to see is to feed the box power from the same soure as the camera...
the 2nd test I'd need to see is to feed the box the output from a Audo RX powered by the same source as the camera...
That looks interesting! I've looked for a good solution and never came across the Beachtek.
Mine arrives today. I'll let you guys know.
A Mix-Pre 3 doesn't look that much bigger - or am I wrong?
For top notch sound you have the Sonosax M2D2. It's a solution for DSLR cameras like Sony A7 or DSMC2 but can also be hooked to a Smartphone used as recorder. Internal batteries for 4 hours independent recording with 2x 48v or external power.

Available in june I've heard.

The default is a good option. Especially if you have a cheese plate on the side plate. But I have another that works pretty good that I'll be showing shortly.
BTW, the sounds quality is very good.
