I know its hard to say this early, but do you think with the addition of USB-C input on the new iPadOS it will be possible to view R3D files with a player or Cine X?

Was just about to post the same thing. Hopefully once Red has R3D playback decoding working under Metal it might be possible to connect a Red Mini-Mag reader directly to an iPad Pro for playback? Would be really cool to have a version of Redcine-X for iPad that allows you to do some review and maybe basic color correction?

Yeah, using a ipad with the mini mag reader and a usb drive connected for offloading would be a great option.
