Just completed work on a music video for band NEWQUOTA here in Bristol UK.
All shot on my RED ONE MX with Nikon mount. Mostly the Nikon AF-S 35mm 1.8G DX, but a little bit of Tokina AT-X 11-20mm f/2.8 PRO DX for the wide shots.
The band were quite willing to let me push the 'cinematography' aspect of the shoot and so we developed the following idea:
The song is called unshakeable, we decided to reinforce this idea with the camera either being on sticks or slider - all stable, the framing however would consciously break the rules of composition (faces half in frame, little or too much head room etc) in order to create a sense of whatever is happening in frame (designed to make one feel ill at ease) the camera itself is 'unshakeable'.
We tried to emphasise this a little more with the grade pushing the whole frame to a bit of a yellow green, to give a 'sickly' feel, especially to skin tones.

I hope you enjoy. It was great fun to do, and I learnt loads in the execution. Still need to learn more about lighting (used 4 redheads, and various diffusion and bounce), but I feel quite happy about the first 'proper' music video that I have shot.

Now a proud owner of a RED One MX

Very nice work, Nicholas. RED ONE FTW!

On the odd shot I would have liked to have seen the LUT taken down just a notch, but it looks really nice otherwise.
Good production values may not be noticed. Bad production values will be.
