The celebrated cinematographer Roger Deakins CBE, ASC, BSC joins ARRI to give his feedback on ALEXA Mini LF, Signature Prime lenses, and the TRINITY stabilizer, all of which he used on director Sam Mendes’ new film, “1917.”

Nice arri commercial. Understanding how resolution can give you that fine grain and roundness to the image.

I can't wait for the 6K software upgrade.
Good production values may not be noticed. Bad production values will be.

Really looking forward to this film, it's sort seems the digital equivalent of Dunkirk mixed with inspiration from Russian Ark. I'd be interested to see a more in-depth documentary about the shooting of the film as well. They've got all these handoffs of the camera during the shot to get it from hand-held to a crane to a wire rig and it looks as though they must've shot the film in sections and there will be transitions designed to get the shot from one section to the next section.

    Craig,

I'm sure there will be an in depth discussion about this in "American Cinematographer " in probably the December or January issues.
