Have you reached out to Sennheiser to help troubleshoot the issue (and eliminate a device fault) ?

Not sure what else might interfere at 1.9 GHz other than wireless (DECT) phones.

I realize this is an older thread, but get Sennheiser to check out your AVX. I have been quite pleased with mine overall, typically used as an interview or event mic. No range or interference issues out to 50-60 feet, even shooting in large art galleries in downtown NYC on one trip. That is as far away as I have used it.
It is a great system for a solo shooter on a tight budget IMO. I have had mine for three years now and haven't felt the need to look for something else to replace it.

I don't know what your budget is, but in my world, Lectrosonics is the de facto standard.

Correct, Lectrosonics is the "industry standard" in most parts of the world.

Although, lately in just the last few years all the excitement seems to be with other brands.

Such as on the high end with sound cart rigs, going with Shure's Axient Digital, or Shure's parternship with QXD.

Or Wisycom's recent launch of their quad channel Superslot receiver.

Or Sound Devices' purchase of Audio Ltd might mean more integration in the future, and already a lot of people like the audio quality from Audio Ltd A10 (especially for their boom).

And please don't take this as a shot at you, because I see this so often, I've never understood why people will buy expensive cameras and then buy cheap audio equipment.

100% agreed. Too many people will spend tens and tens and tens of thousands of dollars on camera gear, yet not even a single ten grand on audio equipment. Neither do they properly learn to use it.

Not a bad thing though... keeps them needing me and my audio gear.

Ditto lighting, that gets neglected too while people obsess over every latest new camera body release or lenses.

Thanks Christopher, the Lectrosonics is out of budget right now as I'm thinking $1000–2000 range. Will sure look into the lectrosonics for the next upgrade!

Thanks Laurie for youre knowledge. One thing thats weired about the avx is that its dropping the signal even at the country side with no other disturbing electronics around (apart from the red camera itself).

Any wireless video monitors? Any wireless follow focus? What about lights? Their ballasts / power supplies could be at fault. Heck, even your on camera hardwired monitor could be at fault if the cable is dodgy. Check for RF spray.
