We tried using some GoPro 4 Blacks to film some night driving plates and it was just a waste of gasoline, the footage was so noisy it was unusable and we had to get a good mount to put our Sony A7S on the car. We routed an HDMI cable to our Atomos Shogun in the car to get 4K as well and comparing the two was, funny enough, a night and day difference! Hopefully GoPro has worked on low light capability because it would make a lot of small night shoots like that much easier, granted no one would expect Sony A7S performance but still, usable footage would be nice.

If you are expecting low light performance equivalent of a $2000 camera with full frame sensor with full frame lenses from a camera the size of a GoPro you need to readjust your expectations dramatically. I have shot a lot of great night time driving footage with nothing but a GoPro strapped onto my forehead.
