  1. #1 backing up footage for DP/cam op reel
How does everyone back up footage you plan to use on your reel? I've started to accumulate quite a bit of data over the past few years and am trying to figure out the best way to keep my footage safe for future use in reel? Thanks!

When I get low on drive space I'll dump it all and cut a short selects reel and either color correct, or output in log for use later.

r3d trim is the way to do it. Dont color bake into some log format.

Do your selects in a resolve timline and use mediamanagement to trim and relink to the sellects.

Backup the original files onto more than one LTO.

Store those tapes in different geographic locations.

One of the best advantages of saving the camera original files has been the improvements in color science developed by RED and shared in this community.
