    Hey Alan, no problem-

    1. Apply the effects stack that you want to a clip (I leave the settings on those effects generically set)
    2. Click 'Save Effects Preset' at the base of the Video (Inspector) Tab
    3. Name your custom effects stack, i.e. "Master R3D Stack 2019"
    4. Choose your category to save the new combined effect stack under as a single thumbnail (I place mine under 'Color')
    5. You can also set this to be your default effect, if you'd want, but it's not necessary.

    Cheers,
    Dusty

Thanks again Dustin. You're right, the Raven does not support IPP2 preview in camera, but I can shoot in REDWideGamutRGB / Log3G10 and use IPP2 in post. The image on the Raven monitor is flat and devoid of color - surprisingly that's helping me compose better!

My advice is to use REDcineX first to make RMD files. Don't let Final Cut make them!

Then, it's smooth sailing ... Watch the video at the end of this page http://www.girafxmedia.com/index.php...line-workflow/

No problem. Once you get going in FCPX with shortcuts and timeline fluidity- it's unbelievably fast and efficient for editing and color, even in long format projects w/ R3Ds in mixed timelines. Enjoi. :) Working with 8K, I have also continuously tested downscaling quality between RCX and Premiere and right now, and FCPX Spatial Conform is on par with anything else. I still love that RCX allows us to choose our downscaling algorithms, but truth be told, you'd be choosing maybe between two of what is available, 99% of the time.

    Cheers,
    Dusty

Just watched, and liked what I saw! That was my original question, I found the popup RAW modifications in FCPX too limiting. This seems like just the right answer for me, thank you!
