I was thinking kinda the same thing. I also don't want to join Facebook to keep informed on the latest and greatest news about the Komodo. Couldn't there just be a thread started by one of the Beta testers to keep all of us whom don't own a Komodo "in the loop".

I've seen posts of info that I would have been really interested in obtaining but there always seemed to be a Facebook requirement to access info and additional footage.

Maybe someone here can change that?

I know it's been said but just want to say it again. It is REALLY dumb to be using an exclusive Facebook group for Komodo beta discussion. Especially when you already have a platform in Reduser and you could easily create a private forum and invite users that have received their cameras.

I appreciate the people behind the scenes sending out emails when a new firmware update is available, but I feel completely disconnected from everything and I have absolutely no plan to create a Facebook account to change that. A Facebook account should not be a requirement to discuss a beta camera with it's creators.

Exactly the same for me!

My appreciation of RED is eclipsed by my dislike of Facebook. I'm not opening an account just to "catch-up".
Same goes for Instagram.

Regarding news and user interaction, the choices don't have to be mutually exclusive. They can be delivered on all of these platforms and it seems like RED has made use of all of them.... except the pigeon (because let's face it, drones have long made pigeons obsolete).

For firmware upgrades, however, I agree that there is an issue just making them available on Social media platforms like FB and IG.
I and others have our reasons for being reluctant to join them. I don't think RED has to reinvent the wheel on this.
Just make do what was done in the past and continue to make developments like firmware upgrades available on REDUser in addition to other platforms.
