I can’t recall ever shooting and thinking, “this shot needs some blown highlights”. So I have doubts about that one. I suppose we will learn more in the coming weeks. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic range compares to its sibling.
Its an aggressive grade. I was in the DI and they pushed the raw color 200%. And it was an equal opportunity heavy hand across all sensors :)

    And to consider that:

Komodos new sensor could be the training ground for the next DSMC3 cameras.

Interesting choice to push the color 200%. What was the reasoning behind the choice? Something super poppy/contrasty to catch audience attention?

I was watching the commercial last night after it was posted here, and I assumed all the drone shots and the handheld stuff in the thief's face at the beginning were all Komodo. It'll be interesting whenever we get a finalized breakdown of what camera was used for each shot... however.. with that being said...

It's pretty apparent that the camera works... that's all I needed to see... take my money Jarred. I need a travel size RED asap.

Once Komodos are out on sets with DSMC2s I could imagine selecting it for some shots purely for the global shutter...

    Highly doubt that.

Hold your horses.. we still are working on the details. Remember Hydrogen was a completely separate company from RED Camera so it's more complicated than it should be. But we should have a plan soon.

I think I'm gonna break this forum up now.. We are still a few months away but things are starting to move very quickly and we are starting to move from topic to topic a little to fast.
