That 85mm lens was at least 3 times heavier than the camera.

Yep, I let that slip on FB a bit ago, just an under the radar project for the moment, but I have a real one in the flesh already.
PL to RF mount with a slot for the same existing revolva cartridges.

Not sure we'll do EF to RF the same as that job is covered reasonably by the very cheap and handy Canon EF-RF with vari ND. Its chintzy as hell, but cheap and works.

Might want to reconsider the EF version. A robust adapter with locking EF mount would make a nice complement to CN-E series lenses that support Canon stabilization, auto-iris and auto-focus functions. The combination could make an interesting run and gun doc camera.

I don't have personal experience with the Canon, but it seems to me a simple variable ND without hard stops and with a miniaturized control wheel.
I'd pay the premium for a proper ND wheel on EF to RF, locking mount

I don’t like variable ND filters and the Canon adapter version is apparently not the best quality.

+1 for a EF to RF Revolva.
I have set up a couple of my Salty DSMC2 surf housings with Revolva control, and it would be amazing to have one on the Komodo housing.
The control on the Canon ND is tiny, so would be tricky to make work in a housing.

My dream for RED to include ND's as part of the brain continues.
