Nice, that PL mount looks solid!
Is there currently a way to add connectivity for RCP via Freefly Movi Pro / Movi Controller? Hopefully there's a way to solder up a cable based on the EXT port pinout..

Too lazy to re-render this with KOMODO instead of BMMCC :)

Hello Dimitri,
Nice work!
- I think your rods attachement should be closer to the body, to attach a motor to the Iris for example.
- Can you lower the center of travity between the shoulder and the camera body? It would be great (no need for riser). It would be the first time the operator can look just above the camera on the right side. We usually are blind on the right side due to the size of the camera.
- The LCD attachement should be on the top of the Screen. So you don't have to look up and you want to have it really close to the right side of the camere where your eye is situated. If you put the mechanism in the middle it will touch the lens and you will have to move it more left.
- I think you can put the LCD attachment to the top handle only on the right side. If you put it on the left side it would hit the matte box or even be in frame when using wide angle.
- I woulnd't use the 15mm rod to attache an handle as it has some flex and is usually to high up or allreay used for motors and matte box. I would definitly use the rosette on the camera cage.
- Shoulder pad are usually too big. They need to be not more than 13cm long and 3cm deep. The pad can have a simple design (no need for pillow design) something as simple as this even it it's still big. In the old time (arri sr3) the shoulder pad was a folded balck cloth.
- I know it sounds very close to Smallrig/Zacuto/arri/... but using a VTC locking system would be killer.
it is always better to attach Rod with follow focus motor directly to the camera body, but not to shoulder pad rods. In this case you can move camera body WITH attached follow focus between Shoulder pad system and Tripod/Monopod/Steadycam. Arca Swiss Quick Release plate works great with small sized cameras.

But if you have the handles on the shoulder rig, why not use those handels while on the tripod configuration as weight isn't anymore the problem? It's more about speed to go from one system to the other.
Or do you think about going to gimbal faster by stripping it down to the minimal in this "tripod & gimbal configuration", and use more accessories only when it's on shoulder? The opposite way of the VTC plate idea?
Very interesting design.
The GDU SIDE BRACKET FOR KOMODO is now available https://global-dynamics-united.mysho...osted-it-thing
Patrick , i have no idea why i need all those handles and shoulder pad on my tripod :) It takes 2 seconds to detach camera from shoulder pad system and connect it to tripod.
VTC plate is expensive proprietary connector for large camera systems. For tiny bricks like BMMCC/Z-CAM/KOMODO Arca Swiss clamps works way better. If you like VTC concept, you can just connect Arca Swiss QR Plate to Rail Block in front of shoulder pad.
