    Greetings,

Is it possible to use my DMSC1 Canon mount on a DMSC 2 brain?

Yep! Works fine. That bolt pattern and general standard didn't change across the two body generations.

However, if you are working with the larger format Monstro 8K VV sensor, I do recommend using the VV mounts which have a larger port hole to accommodate larger projected image circles.

How about motion mount? I just collected a second-hand one today, it attaches to the camera fine, and works like a normal mount (it's the EF version), focal data etc all flows through, however, the "motion mount" part doesn't seem to be working. I checked the latest motion mount manual, and it says it should work with DSMC2 bodies, but the camera seems to only identify it as a standard EF mount. I'm on the latest firmware 7.3.0 - camera is a Magnesium 6K Dragon. I also tried it out on my Gemini Ranger - same result.

    Any advice would be appreciated,

    Myles.

Sure can, I've been using DSMC1 mounts on my helium for over three years now.

PL Motion and Canon motion read on my helium properly and both mounts let me use nd mode, square and soft as well. Best to file a support ticket with red.
