All, I'm playing with my camera a bit and learning gobs AND heaps with how it operates. We're having much fun, I should say.

My question that I can't seem to really understand is the white balance and the EVF. I took my gray card and did an Auto WB and it did adjust, but the colors are still bizarre. Some are sort of close, some are a mile off, like a red shirt looking magenta, light magenta.

Now it is the evening here and I'm in my office with fluorescent lighting, so I know that's probably causing some (all?) of my issues. Is there something else I'm not focusing on? I don't have an Intel machine here to play with the RAW file, so I can't compare. Mainly just trying to see if the EVF is always funky with its colors. They seem way too saturated.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

What camera firmware are you using at the moment?

Just got my camera a week ago, so I'm the latest, build 16.

Timecode slate numbers are magenta, as are lips. Skintone can be greenish.
Colors look posterised. Colors are also bad on HD-SDI out to a Panasonic 17" monitor. Red LCD looks very different - cooler color. The banding is there, as always, but far less posterized. build 16 (3.2.4)

That is clearly not right. P.M me any additional details if you wish... .

Also, upgrade to the release build (Build 16 V3.2.5) - as that may resolve the banding in the LCD issue...

    Stuart,

I'm 3.2.5 build and the colors the other Mark mentioned seem similar to what I'm seeing in the EVF, skintone greenish, lips magenta, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark,

I've noticed colors in the EVF, when in RedSpace viewing mode, to be over-saturated as well. You can dial down the saturation in the menus.

Don't worry though, in my experience it has no effect on the RAW file.
