Cine Zoom Lenses for Komodo (Budget Friendly)

Hi to all, what do you think which one from the affordable cine zoom lenses will give for narrative style shooting the best image quality, sharpness, contrast and matching to natural face skin color look in the image.

1. Sigma Cine Zoom 18-35mm T2 + Sigma Cine Zoom 50-100mm T2
2. Tokina Cinema Vista 16-28mm II T3 + Tokina 25-75mm T3 + Tokina 50-135mm Mk II T3
3. Fujinon MK18-55mm + MK50-135mm T2.9 ( by using adapter )
4. Laowa OOOM 25-100mm T2.9
5. Rehoused Sigma stills into Cine Zoom Lenses from CINEMATICS*

* (it's a chinese company which is rehousing Sigma Zooms like 18-35mm f/1.8 and 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lenses into Cine)

If these are other options which i didn't mentioned, please let me know.

Hi Hayk,

I'm not familiar with cine zooms, I'm just wondering if you can actually adjust the flange focal distance that far (2mm - with adapter even more) to make the E-Mount zooms (18mm FFD) work with Komodo's RF-Mount (20mm FFD). Couldn't find any detailed info about this (surely useful) FFD adjustment function in Fujinon's brochure.
If not possible, the agony of choice becomes more bearable...if this consoles you.

Don't think the E-mount zooms can be adapted. But I expect there may be RF mount versions of those before too long.

I assumed that, too. I just wanted to make Hayk aware that it doesn't work that way.
Speaking of "budget friendly", if I had to choose a zoom lens for Komodo, I'd take RF lenses, because I'd use them for photography anyway. I didn't change from EF to RF yet, but I definitely will. No hurry.
Otherwise I'd prefer prime lenses over zooms lenses.

Generally true. But this has been in the works for a long, long time.

Interestingly one of the benefits of Komodo being announced so early on is people can then beat on the doors of lens manufacturers and places like Duclos Lenses to begin creating tools we'll want on the day a fresh Komodo is in your hands.

The MK lenses are nice and tidy zooms, pretty damn affordable too. Expect even more options very, very soon.

Well hello there beautiful.

I've always ignored these lenses b/c of the mounts, but this changes everything. I spent the first years of my career with a Canon 18-55, really nice focal range, and you can fudge a little more length out of it by punching in to 4k. They could really be the perfect set to live with the Komodo. Only issue is it sucks to invest in lenses that only work on the Komodo. That and the mount conversion kit is several months away. But still, so cool.

As far as Sigmas go, I actually like the stills versions better, b/c they have AF. Which you probably want with the Komodo. Just be aware that the breathing on the 50-100 is really bad.

Agree with you about the sigma's 50-100mm lens breathing even in cine version, but example on Tokina 50-135mm there is no such a huge focus breathing like on sigma lens.
