See it. It's brilliant. I saw it tonight and it blew my mind. It's very rare to see a film that makes a mark on you after you leave the theater.

And it's shot on film, take a break fanboys and see the beauty of real organic film grain.

Amazing movie. The incredibly long takes! Wow. This deserves a best picture nod and if not a best director one. Cuaron!

A very good movie. The last half an hour is just almost to much. But it is never over the top. It will get a best pic NOD.

my favorite film of this past year - although I have yet to see Pan's Labyrinth....Lubezki is amazing and I can't believe he was not nominated by the DGA.

Now Pan's Labyrinth is an amazing film and I have to say is pulling hard for me as the best movie of the year IMHO. You need to see it.

Children of Men, Pan's Labyrinth & Babel... Impressive trilogy! I read that Cuaron, DelToro and Iñarritu decide to produce the movies at the same time to be able to confront with others doing same things at same time but not to be on others set/post-prod. May be we've to go studing direction at Mexican public TV! Great directors remainds me to the generation of Martin, Francis, George, Steven...
I dream to see what Guillermo, Alejandro & Alfonso will do with RED in their hands!

I was totally amazed with CoM. Not only for the realistic portrayal of life, but with everything that Cuaron did with the camera. The guy is a visualist.

Has anyone ever played Half Life 2? The last 30 mins of the movie reminded me a lot of the atmosphere and action in the game.

  10. #10 seen it 4 times already (and counting!)
As mexicans I think we had the privilege to see it here first than the rest of the world. It blew my mind the first time and still does after the fourth. I hadn't seen something so good since City of God.

Here's a lenghty interview of Charlie Rose to Cuaron, Iñarritu and Del Toro, it's a good laugh, informative and entertaining:

Babel and Pan's Laberynth are also wondeful and compelling films. Regardind Iñarritu I didn't like any of his prior works but this one really nails it. Prieto's cinematography and use of film formats is masterful. And if it weren't for CoM, Pan's would have been my year's favorite film. Amazingly crafted and totally accomplished storytelling in all 3 of them.

Being from the same country as they are, this is a huge inspiration to stop bitching and start working! It definitly is the year of mexican film directors! :D
