    Maybe a red one with a monochrome/infrared sensor :)

None. And not for Storm Trooper white ones either. H1 discount is only for production black Komodos.

    Cool idea!

I'd go for a white with black accents body for my Monochrome Komodo :)

Any clues when you'll be shipping internationally? I pre-ordered them at the official RED Reseller here in Switzerland and can't wait to get my hands on it.

You think it will be still around August or are you aiming more for September / October?

Was thinking about this recently. Unfortunately, i was never able to seriously consider a monochrome Epic, given the cost vs how often it would be used. With the lower cost of the Komodo brains, it starts to become a much more reasonable option. So I'd definitely be curious if the idea of Monochrome or IR brains is being kicked around.

Given the global shutter, Komodo is likely to have significant appeal for some scientific and industrial research applications. There is enough market there for Red to seriously consider making them.

I thought Jarred said, during that epic live stream a few weeks ago, that he wanted to do a monochrome Komodo, but it would be a while.

Be interesting to see what could be done with a monochrome Bayer pattern sensor with different pixels optimized for low light, midtone, and highlight ranges similar to Ilford's C41 process monochrome dye negative films.

Was thinking the exact same thing!

Instead of an RGB CFA, a monochrome sensor with a L-M-H Filter Array.
Jarred, if you make this, I want one!!!

Obviously it can be argued that the photosites dedicated to Low Light do not need a filter at all, while for Highlights a 3 or 6 ND filter or equivalent may be good enough.
I know, it's an insane idea, so maybe I should shut up.
