Ouuf! What could it be? FF35 8k? Phase Detect AF? Ursa Mini 2? RF mount Pocket 6k? Firmware update to get a couple more goodies in pre-existing cameras? Find out tomorrow on...

Nevermind, it's a 12K Ursa Mini Pro... was not expecting that.

12K/60fps, 8K/110fps full sensor downscale. S35. Constant 5:1 compression ratio regardless of frame rate.

*NOT* bayer pattern, but RGB proprietary sensor design (equal Red, Green, and Blue pixels.)

    Sub-$10k

    Still hasn't hit the news anywhere. 12K 60p. S35.

    *laptop editable 12K.

Secondary recording to flash drive, + post file dump to USB-C flash drive from camera. To edit.

Does not have double green pixels as a bayer does.

Not sure of the ramifications of that. (Is this what Sony did on the F65?)

because it is symmetrical you can choose resolutions all at full S35 size.

Can record to flash drive with USB-C cable - as previous cameras - with whatever cable issues that entails. However there is also an SSD holder that mounts on back of camera like the older one between camera and battery plate. Short USB-C cable that is provided has a screw that locks it in place on camera and the holder.

No cropping as you change resolution. 12K, 8K or 4K. All the same field of view.

Is there a technical downside to the RGB pattern. IIRC Bayer pattern was blue green then green red below so a cube so all was in a 2 pixel wide/2 pixel tall array (double green because human eye more sensitive to that for resolution). So presumbably RGB pattern is three pixels wide. Not sure whether it matters much with such small pixels. But only one pixel tall which seems why they can choose resolution without normal bayer funkiness.

    Curious for your input.

Only positive, I'd think. Colour/saturation should be better across the board... mixed lighting performance should be much better... less blue-channel noise/under exposure than CMOS.

If it can do 12k at 60fps the rolling shutter is probably non-existent at, for example 4k full sensor (it could literally be as fast as 1/9th whatever it is at 12K/60... aka non-existent).

Did he say 12,288x6480... friggen 80mp a frame! Yowza. I wonder how big that USB drive was to have 433mins remaining (nature cinematographer's be drooling!).

It took me a bit of time even with the camera in my hands to realize what 80MP video meant... but it means a lot. Will share more thoughts soon.
