By definition, compression pushes the lows and highs together. In audio, in a lens. So while “every focal length has the same range” or however you want to say it, BY DEFINITION compression of course is a real thing. Magnifying the close & far, low & high.

Worth noting that the stampede to FF from S35 may be motivated by multiple factors.

    1) Selling new lenses
    2) You can always put a FF lens on a S35 sensor, but a S35 lens won't cover a FF (or VV) sensor
    3) It's a hot ticket at the moment

As much as I love the VV geometry, I have to agree that as a practical matter - S35 is the sweet spot for many motion projects.

What's perhaps even more spicy, is the plethora of formats one can potentially access these days in authoring the image.

To clarify: the lens doesn't compress (or stretch) anything. It just magnifies. Distance is the cause of perspective compression.
Good production values may not be noticed. Bad production values will be.

The kind of body I wish the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K was in.

    Thanks!

Not sure when footage will drop, but planning on shooting more in the near future. Hopefully with some people (safely).

Also, for those that aren’t aware, the windows version that allows 12K dropped on the BMD support site yesterday. I know some were waiting for that.

It’s the public beta 2 that’s on the support pages...
