Looking really cool, the form factor every dslr should have when they are intended for film. With internal ND, a grip, full hdmi, buttons...
I guess I'd want a better codec like prores to make it more appealing for productions

It looks great. However, in this current 6k , 8k and 12k camera landscape, you would have thought that for $5,499 that they would have chosen at least 6k and also included internal Raw recording capabilities.

I mean look at the venice. If you want to record raw you need the extra module to record raw and that all is in the 70k range. at 5499, 4k 10bit 422 with 16(i use that term lightly)stops of latitude, with built in ND and audio solutions, thats pretty damn bad ass. Ive been shooting alot with the 4k 10bit xfavc on the 500ii and you can do a lot with that codec. its not like a super low bitrate 8 bit 420 codec. And you can do it up 120 in 4k. thats not too damn bad at all. I think it has a ton of things going for it for its price.

That it isn't an R5 that doesn't overheat (and maybe has a few more fps options), is frustrating to me. I like almost everything about it otherwise...

But s35 4k-only baked codec, when there's an 8k raw FF35 camera available for 2/3rds the price? C'mon, like tell me the extra room of that body wouldn't be able to easily mitigate any heat problems of the R5 while still adding all the c70 bells and whistles? It's just kinda frustrating.

Yeah that would be great if they didn't have an Full-Frame EOS R5 that's capable of recording in 8K Raw, albeit with limited recording times. This is Super35 4K Non- Raw recording capable camera. If this had been Full-Frame, 6K or 8k , with 16-Stops of Dynamic Range, with Raw recording capabilities , plus the included and well-known Auto focusing capabilities of Canon this would be phenomenal !
