Hopefully Red sends Newsshooter a Komod to review.
They have covered every update and seem to support Red though a lot of the commenters do not. I would like to read a MA review since he is a neutral fair and thorough reviewer I believe.

No point sending a beta camera.
Well, it's a product and they are marketing it and charging money for it, so why not?
Newsshooter have honestly reviewed WIP products before and given good constructive criticism.

One of hte few news/review sites i actually visit. I'm sure he'll be neutral and thorough.
That's because you're preaching to the choir here. You're not likely to find many folks around here who dislike Red's beta policy, and the fact that Red let them buy advance copies with beta firmware. It's not like Red ever lied about that, or forced anyone to use a beta version, it's all voluntary, and the extra cost is the tradeoff for early access.
But we know that, or we wouldn't still be here.
The detractors don't want to see that. They can't tell the difference between a voluntary beta and a Facebook style "test it by shipping" it beta.
Black Magic does almost exactly the same thing that Red does; it sends cameras to a bunch of beta testers to use, but unlike Red who is doing it out in the open, BMD does it with a strict embargo.
While I don't see either approach being objectively better, I do prefer Red's because it's more engaging. Other than that, they're about the same, yet the Red detractors don't see it that way -- and that's a choice that they made, because it's pretty hypocritical to criticize Red for doing exactly the same thing that they celebrate Black Magic (or anyone else) for doing, when the ONLY difference is that Red doesn't embargo the beta testers, and the cameras are, once the firmware is in general release, identical to the production models other than the custom colors.
But try explaining that to one of the detractors. It's like trying to explain that the world is in fact a globe to a flat earther.
