I own an A7R 3 for photography and have used the sony for a couple of video shots when I needed a small camera. The videos files are very thin, hard to grade the log footage, I was pretty unhappy with the camera. Later I purchased a pocket 4k for the times I needed a small camera and even though its a painful design, the files and workflow blow the sony away. I prefer the pocket 4k (over the 6k) as it can be close to full frame with a speedbooster, its cheaper and 4k is all I have ever needed, I'm already swimming in far too much- expensive to store data.

The A7RIII would be great for stills but other than still resolution and Full Frame sensor coverage, you would be missing out on video with 8-bit in a time when 10-bit is becoming the new standard and that's at the minimum! The Blackmagic Pocket 6K offers cinematic S35 footage that is a stone's throw away from 8K so that will help be competitive and complementary if used as a B-camera, especially combined with one of those awesome Arri Alexa LUTs, but doesn't offer nearly as much in the stills department. I like the A7S III idea but if you need stills, 12 megapixels might not be enough even if the processing is stellar and, again, it's just 4K when 8K is going to be the new norm soon.

The A7S3 is the best camera under $20k. It's insane how good it is. The FX6 will probably be worth the cost increase just for the amazing ND and proper audio inputs.

Patrick, did you do a hot pixel refresh? I know my original A7S has needed that sometimes from going to high ISO and back frequently over time.
