I think it's the super grip without the attached grip on the bottom, same as the one on the left

The item above the "M" in "GIZMODO" in the PL cap is the B4 to PL converter for using B4 lenses with the PL mount on the RED ONE. They optically enlarge the image ~1.32x, allowing for 1080p or maybe 2K coverage, depending on the optical coverage of your lens. For example, while the lens may cover the full 2K area with the converter, there may be nasty fringing and aberration. It all depends on your glass.

so is that different to the B4 mount that sells for $3500 or is that it?

edit: meaning, i though that the B4 mount would be interchangeable like the Nikon, Canon and PL mounts, so this would just be a converter, not a mount? have i got the wrong end of the stick here?

Ah, now i get it. I thought the grip handle was just part of the Supergrip. I didn't know it could be removed.

Mike, it can be removed... at least in the prototype I saw. I don't want to comment on the final design because I'm not involved and it's really not my place to comment.

Chas, that is the $3,500 mount/adapter. You can mount it on a lens, you can mount it in the PL-mount, you can keep it separate. It's up to you. It's a very easy piece to swap around.

The supergrip handle can be removed but not the top clevis portion. I think RED wanted it such that you can put custom grips on there if you are so inclined.
