I picked up a lightly used and modified Basson Steadicam as a practice rig. Time to move on. The Basson is basically the cheapest tool with enough weight capacity to fly a Red. Something like 28lb of camera weight carrying capacity. It is not close to a real pro rig (with $30K price tag), it is what it is. Previous owner purchased it new in LA this winter, used it on 1 film, then sold it to me. It had no dynamic balance and a mickey mouse battery from the factory. Previous owner removed the bottom of the sled and installed a home brewed base. Currently set to slide the monitor mount fore and aft slightly, plus he added a V-mount. There is enough room to add three more battery mounts to rough-in dynamic balance and for ballast.
Comes with sled, dual spring arm, vest, docking bracket.
Will send pictures upon request- it'll take a few to fully show the rig. You can usually view a stock Basson on Ebay.
Asking US$2,200.00
Again this is lightly used.
Kindly refrain your crass comments. This is represented as a practice rig- the cheapest way to load up 25-28 lbs on a sled and get some flying time in.
