I haven't used this on a camera before but Brazil R/S has it in the framebuffer. I actually haven't found it all that useful because I still can never tell if it's hot red or clipping red. I would hope they're combined with some sort of zebras or else I'll just rely on the good ol' histogram and parade waveform.

Edit: Ahh Magenta for clipping! See now that's something Brazil needs. That would work quite nicely.

Actually the whole Accuscene site is still up:

    http://www.accuscene.com/viewfinder.html

It's just their home page which is no longer there. Lots of info, including manuals. Hope it's ok to post this link, but anyone could find it with Google.

waveform seems to be a neat feature.

If somehow possible to record/store all information waveform gives you. Than it could be a really helpful feature minding effect shots. Light can be tricky sometimes with 3d/matte paintings if you dont have some good readings on site. Say you can transfer information to your post app. I guess that can help fine adjusting latitude for surface treatment. Combine that with some HDR footage on site and you get killer control.

Thanks guys - direct link to the page in question:

I've also updated it with some Q&A with Stuart and some other tidbits of info just to stuff them in somewhere (at bottom of article). There's also a link to pics I took of show, including closeups of the SuperGrip.

... I'm confused aren't you just suggesting to look at the Histogram on the footage?

This is the current set up -

    EVF Only -

False Color Meter - only in EVF, potential for LCD in future (not a promise)
Overlays the entire image and forces it to monochrome....

    EVF and LCD -

Histogram RGB histograms that appear under the main image

Waveform Luma waveform that appears under the main image

Focus Focus "waveform" that appears under the main image

Some or all of these were shown in prototype form at NAB ...
