Red, are we ever going to see a fix of the purple sun spot issue?

In the meantime, does anyone out there have any advice in dealing with the issue other than masking it out and motion tracking the rough spot?

For the benefit of those who do not know, what exactly is this issue?

When you point the Red at the sun, it will clip to a point where the hottest point turns milky purple. So, a Sun will look like it has a weird eclipse going on whenever its in your shot.

It's sort of the nature of the beast at this point. If they haven't done it in 17 builds...

I think it was said a while back that it is inherent in the sensor design. No way to get rid of it until after the fact. Either masking/tracking or pushing the highlights up until it burns out. Anyone feel free to correct me if my information is lacking.

You can put a secondary on it, expand/blur the key, and get rid of it that way.

Are we going to see this issue with the Scarlet and Epic along with the 2-second bootup times?

It has been this way since the beginning, and there have been many threads about it. It can happen with other very bright highlights as well, but the sun is a given. The camera is not perfect, but I'll take what it delivers in picture quality even if the trade off is that I have to do some extra work if I point i at the sun.
