For the benefit of those who do not know, what exactly is this issue?
Rob
When you point the Red at the sun, it will clip to a point where the hottest point turns milky purple. So, a Sun will look like it has a weird eclipse going on whenever its in your shot.
It's sort of the nature of the beast at this point. If they haven't done it in 17 builds...
[/challenge] :)
I think it was said a while back that it is inherent in the sensor design. No way to get rid of it until after the fact. Either masking/tracking or pushing the highlights up until it burns out. Anyone feel free to correct me if my information is lacking.
You can put a secondary on it, expand/blur the key, and get rid of it that way.
Are we going to see this issue with the Scarlet and Epic along with the 2-second bootup times?
whoa wait a minute !!!!! r u guys saying this camera going to give me freaky black thing around the sun or on the sun spot? thats canon Xl1 shit long time bac. so how r we suppose to shoot sunsets or sun flare? thru adobe after effects? common give me a break!!!!!!
this is serious shit we talking guys.....what is suppose to be the solution? not tracking hell NO NO way. it never looks right
It has been this way since the beginning, and there have been many threads about it. It can happen with other very bright highlights as well, but the sun is a given. The camera is not perfect, but I'll take what it delivers in picture quality even if the trade off is that I have to do some extra work if I point i at the sun.
but here we talking PRO CINEMA not some DV forum. SUN is a huge issue man
