  1. #1 LA Traffic this AM - Oct. 23
For all of you in the Los Angeles area...

The 405 is shut down on all lanes in BOTH directions between Sunset and the 101, as is Sepulveda. There is a fire in the pass between Skirball and The Getty. You can imagine what traffic today will be like.

I just got stuck going to a 6AM racquetball game. Took me 1/2 hour to get from Washington/Venice exit to National exit on the 405N.

If you're going, well, anywhere in LA this morning, I suggest you leave about 5 hours early. :)

And I thought traffic in Boston was tough. Forgot how bad it could get in LA.

It's the reason I lived 3 miles away from the studio when I was based in LA !!

I hope you had your BlackBerry Luci!

Isn't there a fire that they are dealing with?

    Beverly Hills may be threatened.

That particular spot is a major artery. If, say, there was a fire in the Lincoln Tunnel in NYC, it would be the same deal.

Hehe... Whenever I get frustrated with traffic around Denver, I just remind myself what it's like to drive around LA and I it helps me feel a bit better about the situation. Although, we're headed the same direction, making most of the same planning / design mistakes. Another 8 years and 1M people (at the current growth rate) and we'll be where LA is now. ...I may just have to move.

You can move to Utah Jeff, they just opened another highway here that reduced traffic so much it's actually kind of delightful to drive on the freeway. Our rush hour is like 3 in the morning on the 405.

Oh, I -just- got to work.

SOMEHOW.. that figures. I do not look at RedUser.net before leaving home for work.. and of course there is a notice about traffic that affects me!! LMAO.

    Zak,

Since when did heavy traffic stop you from driving at least 75mph?
