Thread: 1080p output?

We are using Wafian HR-F1(http://www.wafian.com/HR-F1.htm) for record and playback of Digital Cinema Camera footage. Using 1080p output of Red One camera, unable to see the picture clearly. When I've the settings switched in my Wafian to 720p50, It works. The same 1080p24 works very well with Phantom HD Digital Cinema Camera. We are facing the problem only with Red One 1080p output.
Thoughts and Suggestions welcome.

The RED ONE only spits out 1080p in playback - and even then it is dual-link HDSDI on the main SDI outputs and single-link 422 on the 'Preview' HDSDI.Originally Posted by gbalaji
One thing to check is that you don't have OPEN GATE turned on - that might switch the output to 720p50/720p60.

Is only available on playback. I assume that it will be 1080p / 25 if your project TIME BASE was also 25.00.
And use the PVW output if you want 1920 x 1080 in 10-bit 4:2:2 format.
Make sure your PLAYBACK setting is 1080p also, else you will get 720p on record and also on playback.

mayby the same problem as with the wave came, that it not works with real progresive frames (one full frame)in 1080 and only works with psf. in 1080 (two times the same field in one frame used by Sony for instant)

Tried both 1080p and 1080psf settings on Wafian.
Would like to clarify from Red whether the camera preview output is true 1080p or not?

The camera preview is 720 but the playback can be set to 23.9/1080P (not pSF) and recorded by some (non-Sony) decks. The 4:2:2 single link is on the preview output connector.
We have recorded the playback directly on a HD-D5 deck.

As Keith says,like to clarify from Red whether the camera preview output is true 1080p or not?
The PVW output is 720p, but it can be forced to 1080p when the camera is in PLAYBACK, provided you have set the camera's PLAYBACK MODE to 1080p.

what is the difference between preview out and playback out. Will it change?
Is red outputs 1080p on preview?

what is the pulldown candence red uses for 720p playback.
