With this latest announcement I Think the Good folks at Red have really
blazed a new trail the way we shoot still and video and film.
If you need to shoot panaromas in amazing high qaulity use the 617, if you
want to shoot anamorphic use a full frame epic, etc etc etc, the possibilities
are endless. You dont have to compromise the image anymore to get it to the format you want to shoot in.
Think of it like a car. some makers won't sell you the sunroof unless you buy the floor matts in package B. With the new models you only have to pay for
features you want or need, drastically reducing your buy in to a camera that is light years ahead of the competition. I for one applaud the entire Red team
for trying to break new ground in this business and to truly give the customer what they want.
I think some folks need to step back a little and remember what they were
shooting on before Red.
I shall step step down off my soap box now.
A little side note to Mr. Jannard. I have never seen anyone so focused on 100% customer satisfaction in my life. I have been to more BORED meetings of companies big and small who all talk about customer satisfaction but rarely do I see such determinaton to make it happen. I find it amazing that even if 10,000 scream yeah!!, you try to find out why a handfull cried foul. I find this truly remarkable, and appreciate the effort.
Then again you just maybe completely nuts....which is cool too.
