  1. #1 QuickTime REDCODE support explained (maybe)
I've written a blog post in which I attempt to lay out my understanding of how REDCODE QuickTime support will work. Maybe some folks will find it useful. I'd also be interested in Red folks pointing out any inaccuracies, because (as I say in the post), I've synthesized the information there from a bunch of different posts by Red folks here, and it's possible I've misunderstood some things.

    Thanks.

Great man, thanks and just continue.

Reads good to me. We're still working on the QT codec & integration so some things might change (only for the better, of course), but the general workflow will be the same!

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here. Can you elaborate?

Thanks for Chris for the blog post.

Does it mean that it will possible to edit the 4k redcode raw in any nle accepting qt codec and see the raw as rgb or yuv?

How did they edit for Crosing the Line, knowing they were using FCP 5.x? Did they have to process the redcode raw files in an non raw codec to do the editing?

    Thanks,
    antoine.

Deane: we're still working on such workflows, more on that later.

Yes, that should be the case.

No, as indicated before you can load the files just fine in FCP 5. And that's what they did to edit the offline (at 1K [on the fly extracted from 4K]).
