Looks awesome and a generous offer for past customers.

How does it attach to the camera?

But is it customizable to the operator?

Looks like it levels the camera but not to the individual shooter...

Other concern is the actual mount. Doesn't look strong enough, nor practical if going from hand held to an O'Connor head...

    Please correct where I'm mistaken...

    Hi Allstar

Thanks for all your new products. The shoulder mount looks interesting, but just a little high for an already tall camera, which is why I actually like Red's shoulder mount! Instead of bolting to your dovetail, why not have a direct dovetail connection to the Red bottom plate like your dovetail. That might also give you room to make some adjustment mechanism for the angle rather than the current fixed one? Just an idea...

If I bought the dovetail with the shim, but decided in the end to not to buy an O'Connor 1030 head, can I also remove the shim myself and use the existing screws/bolts, or would I need to get shorter screws (what size are they)?

    Cheers!

It rises 3cm high.(You shouldn`t look the longer side).Try it, you`ll forget Red's shoulder mount.
If I make it can fill RED bottom plate(like Allstar dovetail plate),it`ll not only be price at $400,because should increase lock system, and only can work on RED bottom plate. If you want solid and lower price, you need abandon adjustment mechanism, the mechanism isn`t very necessary.
It is very strong enough for a handheld rig, people will feel that after using it.

Hi,Eric Those shorter screws always ship with O`connor type that you can disassemble the shim by yourself.
