it stinks how you don have like little stores in other states like FLORIDA that way i could do like hands on learning with my purchase and sony could come and sob over your "scams" that just have a possibility of running them out of business.

    LIKE THE APPLE STORE!!!

I can't see why it wouldn't have that, since it has fullframe at 6k...

For 24fps, I can't see this requiring more processing power, it should be just a firmware tweak.... if it doesn't I might begin to have some thoughts.

    Sidenote: Isn't anamorphic damn expensive?

Well this is the list that would make things more complete, if added to the well impressive specs!

Anamorphic on all Scarlets(except Scarlet 2/3 Fix Zoom),
    Custom(Scarlet 2/3 Interchangeable),
    Ramping(Scarlet S35, Scarlet FF35),
    5K(Scarlet FF35),
    QuadHD(Epic 645, Epic 617),
    3K(Scarlet S35, Scarlet FF35),
    2K(Scarlet 2/3 Fix, Scarlet 2/3 Interchangeable),
    FF1080P(Epic 617),

    All cameras should have,
    Anamorphic(except Scarlet 2/3 Fix Zoom),
Hardlined EFP/ENG Remote Production, Multicam/Stereoscopic Live View(especially Scarlet 2/3 Fix),
Modular Connections on Every Side of the Brains(except the front obviously),
If it were possible to have Upgradeable Brains(like the RedOne), Sensors/Heat Management/Electronics, etc.

This would make the only real differences with the cameras be, the format sizes, and the prices for frame rates! :weight_lift:

Some people are truly crazy when it come to framerates, sure I can understand why people would want higher framerates etc but man these little processors have limits you know, I'm amazed at what these cameras will be achieving and yet people want more wtf is wrong with you people??? take the epic ff35 it does QuadHD at 150fps isn't that enough? my aging computer absolutely chokes when I try to edit 3840x1200 images and this camera will be crunching 150 frames that are twice that size every second. Cool... you people that want even faster framerates you all sound crazy enough to try duct taping two epics together to double the framerate, ha :)

But I know quite a few folks who will buy it even if it was 1 FPS only, as they all want it for still photography - just like me... :)
I agree, if I had the cash I'd get 617 and use it for stills and shoot 4k video but right now I'm looking at one of the Scarlets but if you could get even a 645 that shot stills at 1fps and QuadHD at 1-30fps I wouldn't consider paying ~$11k to be unreasonable, dare I say this would be the "DSLR Killer" everyone wanted :) however I can understand Reds philosophy of shooting motion using the whole sensor first and then scaling down from there.

What your computer is "processing" is not even close to what a motion cam has to process for RAW recording. Its a nice sounding analogy but I don't think its really that realistic.

So what exactly are the part(s) that require said additional money? Is it the sensor? DSP?

Usually the cost/performance curve is non linear. I wonder where each RED model is on that curve.

FF35 60fps@3K. That sounds good to me.
