Hi,
I just shot two projects, one which will eventually be 4:3 and one that will be 16:9. I shot both in the 2:1 aspect ratio because I was told that would make the workflow the easiest. If I'm editing with the proxy files in Final Cut Pro, what is the best way to preview the correct aspect ratio without rendering or transcoding? Overlays of the proper aspect ratio would be ideal, so I could see both what is in my frame, and what extra information is outside of it that I could use later if I need to reposition anything, but Final Cut Pro doesn't seem to offer that feature as far as I can tell, and the title safe overlays are entirely dependent on the aspect ratio of the sequence. I wouldn't mind changing the aspect ratio of the sequence, but then I can no longer play the proxies in real time without rendering them for the new sequence settings. If anyone has figured out a good way to deal with this issue, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
