Very good lens set price before Leica will announce its own cine lens set soon.

Thats very interesting. Leitz wanted to get into movie lenses when we built these but accountants:waaa: at my company spoilt the deal. What do they know! Kindest

New boss at Leica AG, CEO Andreas Kaufmann found out that is good for the company because their glass have been used before by Panavision for Primo L set and other lenses, also Dalsa made its own FF35 mm Leica lens set for rental.

In general it's good for Leica's brand image to do something with movies.

Today Zeiss adverising its still glass telling people that is the same technology involved in production like with their cine lenses :).

That is exactly the same story we were given when we approached them. We had to have a minimum of 6 sets per order for the quality control to be able to choose them for us. TC.:whistling:

    Hi Tony

That seems a good price...(I wish the pound was back where it was) you might want to throw them on a projector and see if they still cover the circle needed for a FF35 (epic). If yes I think you'd want to double the price! I personally know of no other lenses (for sale)of Lietz quality (and motion ergonomics) that could be used to produce Vistavision like images...

    kind regards

    Dear Michael
These lenses will cover VistaVision as they were originally computed for Stills 35 full frame coverage. As for price; I thank you for your concerns, However; the price is based upon market value and I could wait a year to get a high price such as that. They are a complete bargain at the price I am asking. So....why not come and buy them?

The VD conversions are mechanically unbelievable, I doubt they will be bettered.

I've spent more than enough recently on lenses:pinch: 7 ultra's +1 optimo DP and only my modest needs working them at the moment..

In the conversion is it theoretically possible to restrict the passage of light not contributing to the active picture. I suspect you are right about coverage... just wondering if its noticeable on a projector.

I'm sure they will be bought before I'm tempted...

    Kind regards

    Michael L

PS I have bought form Tony and his service is excellent!

I have never come across this on any Leicas, although I have seen it on 15mm Kowa lenses.
