I just did some tests and compared 2k proxies and 2k "log transfer" r3d files in fcp - I see absolutely neither a performance advantage nor are the "log transfer" files visually any better than the 2k proxies. So is the only benefit I get the direct link to color?

I hope Red didn't burn through too much development time on the L&T feature...It's not getting any in mileage my workflow. The EDL option works perfectly. If I need to offline I use 1k or 512k rendered footage (depending on the machine).

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed, since I thought it would give me the best of the r3d files and let me finish in fcp with full r3d quality? For now it seems to me just good old qt proxies presented in a new box:)
