We get some pictures, we get some footage (of a weird animal), we get some details on the scarlet and Epic,
and most important… we don't get a mouth like yours :)

We still have a ways to go to get everything together, produced, tested, fixed, packaged and ready. This June is too soon, which we have already stated.

Ok you got footage and photos. How do you know it's from a Scarlet and not just from a Red One or a still camera? Details? You can't shoot video with words and 3d renders. Hey, I'm just being the doubting Thomas. Let's see a camera we can buy (excluding the Red One camera) and use and I'll shut up. Personally, I'd love to see a Scarlet with all its glory, but there needs to be a pissed off consumer or two here to put a little urgency to their promises. Frankly, if Red doesn't get it into gear, then someone else will come along and swipe more customers. It's already happened. The clock is ticking. The meter's running. There are deadlines in all business. Jannard says that "everything in life changes", including consumer's attention span. My "mouth" is speaking what others fear to say. Their decision not to go to NAB is of little importance. NAB is expensive and perhaps not worth the effort. Their decision not to start selling or taking orders on a working camera near the promised date is bad business, especially when such hype has been built up over the past several months. Personally, I can't see Jannard going to work tomarrow and not saying just what I've said here.

Whoa. I'm all for informed consumerism...and informed everything for that matter. But you need to do a little deeper digging and realize what kind of timeline were looking at here. RED turns around cameras from R&D to production (ONE, Scarlet, Epic, etc.) faster than most companies out there. And, luckily, I think Jim wants to shoot with these cameras as bad as the rest of us, so I'm sure the urgency is there. Just gotta go with the flow a little bit now. Que sera, será...ya dig?
    Peace,

All good things to those who wait. And while you're waiting, there's money to be earned with other cameras. There's also scripts that need to be written for your movie once the wait is over. Find something constructive to do and you'll be less frustrated by the delays.

Or, they could just do like every other company and not have told us anything about the new camera's yet.... :)

I said this a little earlier on scarletuser, but I think we all need to remember that being "in the loop" so early in the process is NOT the norm. It's a double edged sword for RED, but if the end consumer can keep this in mind and exercise a bit of patience, I believe we will be rewarded with a better product in the end as a result of having input in the process on at least some level.

And, the decision to not finish the camera on x date, (many would argue) is smart business in the current climate as Jim has already laid out. I'm sure this may be a bit subjective, but Jim is the only one fully equipped to make that decision. It is after all his company, and by and large, most people fully recognize the current situation and appreciate RED being forthcoming about it. As stated, RED went from worrking mad overtime hours, to working regular hours... Meanwhile, most of the "big" companies are laying off 10% of their work force, etc... Granted, I want a camera tomorrow just like a lot folks, but we need to keep things in perspective and compare to what else is going on in the market outside of RED.

    later,

To add a little, the RED team have completely overhauled their entire concept (partially due to this 'in the loop' mentality) and we are in the prospect of getting cameras I couldn't have dreamed of...to own I might add! I here and here to stay. They can take as long as they want...as long as I get a scarlet at the end of the day.

So you can speak for yourself cause its a different language to mine.
